Frequently Asked Questions

What is a ceramic coating?

A ceramic coating is a chemical polymer solution that is applied onto your cars paint after being cleaned and decontaminated. This layer is meant mostly for protection of your cars paint from your environment such as road dirt, break dust, mineral deposits, chemicals, industrial fallout, insect acid, and sun UV ray damage. In addition, ceramic coatings provide the highest end gloss and shine enhancement you can find on a car. Ceramic coatings also provide super hydrophobic properties, which means water beading will result in easy cleaning of your car with a glass like finish

Why should you have your car detailed?

Having your car detailed is an investment that is beyond just having a clean car. A proper detail such as the ones that we provide, bring your cars cosmetics back to, and even beyond it’s original state of health. This is done by cleaning your car to the maximum, and applying protectants to keep your cars surfaces safe from the elements. For most people, the investment of a vehicle is the second largest purchase behind their house. This is because they are an important part of our daily lives. Though, with this daily use, it is imperative to properly maintain your car over the years to prevent damage, and keep your cars appearance youthful.

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the leveling or your cars clear coat (outermost paint layer that is clear). By leveling this layer you are getting rid of all the paint imperfections such as swirl marks, holograms, and light to medium scratches. You can see if your car has these imperfections by holding a flashlight to your cars paint and the reflection will show you how swirled and scratched your paint is. Paint correction is also a necessary step to prepare your cars paint for a ceramic coating, so that the ceramic coating can properly bond with the clear coat, leaving a longer lasting and more durable layer

What people are saying.

“I had both my 2016 Silverado HD and 2020 Toyota Avalon Touring paint corrected and 1 year ceramic coated by Portage Paint Correction. Both came out looking absolutely awesome. The Silverado is black and had swirls all over. When I picked it up saw it, I was completely shocked that the paint looks like it came off the assembly line! They have some awesome skills. Absolutely the best job and I’m so happy I had it done. The Avalon wasn’t bad, but driving thru car washes, it began to develop fine scratches and swirls. Picked it up last week and I’m amazed with how the car’s paint looks. I do t think it looked that amazing when I picked it up with 5 miles on it. The ceramic coating is so amazing as the water just beads and sheets off, I love it! I recommend them and will definitely be going back!”

“Robert was a miracle worker on my “new” one prior owner 1989 Ford Bronco! After years of neglect, he brought the paint back to close to new shine, removed minor scratches and even brought the color back on the top - all on time and at a very reasonable price. It was clear he took care, time and skill to get these results. I highly recommend Robert and Portage Paint Correction!”
