#1: Car Maintenance

Everyone knows that cars are expensive no matter what car or brand you drive… From Honda to Ford to Porsche, they are break at some point We ALL been there! one way to ensure you car is in great shape is to have an expert in your particular cars brand to look it over regularly. The importance of an expert that is knowledgeable with your car and brand is imperative. Last summer, my air conditioner in my Audi A4 went out. based off my own experience with theses cars I knew it it was the compressor and pulley. I took it in the only place willing to work on it based off my availability and many COVID-19 restriction at that time, it was a general service place, they’ve done great work before and excellent reviews. I paid a lot of money for the repair, around $1300! but it never felt like OEM or like factory feel. it made a lot of noise and just didn’t feel right. I don’t blame the shop that did the repair, the technician probably don't work on Audi’s very often. To summarize, when choosing your car macitence service center, make sure there is full clarification and expectations so trust is built.

Help your technicians out! Also… Help yourself out too! A few weeks ago I realized I haven’t cleaned my Audi’s engine bay since the summer! I tell our customers that you should have the engine bay cleaned at the bare minimum once a year. every six months is what I recommend to make it easier to clean up (less work) and cheaper for the customers. I like to to educate people on the importance of engine bay detailing.. Degreasing. There’s an engine in there…. so there’s engine oil, grease, and other car fluids that makes messes in there. when there’s grease in there and you drive through a lot of dust and dirt that likes to stick to the grease and other fluids and makes a larger mess that’s caked on there. How can know what’s going on in there when theres a bunch of dir and grease in there. For example, say you topped off your engine oil few weeks ago and spilled a bit around side of the engine and forgot to clean it up. A few weeks later you pop the hood open to fill up your washer fluid and notice there’s oil on the side of the engine. Now you cannot remember if you spill oil before or if that’s a new leak. Keeping up on the cleanliness and maintenance of car can really pinpoint any reoccurring and developing issues!

Precautions and warnings: With being around there engine, a very expensive part of your car, there are a few precautions we like to follow. Stay away from sensitive electronics such as connectors, alternator, and battery. We also cover any open port that can lead to the engine such as air intakes. Lastly, we recommend to never hold steady stream of water to one particular area and also to be sure we never work on a hot engine.
